In the context of partnership and exchange of students through the Erasmus program, two schools from abroad visited 1st EPAL PSAXNON during the week 9/05/2022 to 15/05/2022:
- Liceo Statale Pascasino, Sicily
- Collège Aimé Césaire, Réunion (French Territory in the Indian Ocean)
The program started in March 2022 with the visit of the Greek and the Italian students to Collège Aimé Césaire, in Réunion. As a continuation of the partnership, 15 Italian and French students from the two schools visited 1st EPAL PSAXNON together with 4 accompanying teachers.
During their stay, they were hosted by families of Greek students. The foreign students were given a tour of the school’s facilities and participated in activities aimed at promoting three of the vital development goals of the United Nations:
- INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE
- CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION
- RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION
Specifically, they met with the Mayor of Dirfyon-Messapia, Mr. Georgios Psathas at the City Hall, where they discussed the problem of the water in Psachna and the project that will give access to drinking water to the residents of the area. At the same time, they had the opportunity to visit factories (SOYA, PALIRRIA), as well as the greenhouses of the MUSHROOM DIRPHYS company.
In addition, recreational and cultural activities were held. The students visited Acropolis, Monastiraki and Thisio in Athens, but also had the opportunity to hike in Steni Evia, swim at Alykes beach and tour the city of Chalkida, observing the phenomenon of the Euripus Strait.
