Erasmus+ Mobility in Réunion

In collaboration with Liceo Statale Pascasino (Sicily) and Collège Aimé Césaire (Réunion), our school visited the island of Réunion which is an overseas department and region of France, located in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar and Mauritius:

  • Duration: 1 week+, from 5th until 14th of March 2022
  • Participants (from our school): 7 students, 2 teachers
  • Project Title: Reduce! Reuse! Recycle!
  • Project Code: 2020-1-IT02-KA229-079827_3

Students and teachers participated in activities with respect to the following UN Goals:

  • GOAL 7: AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY
  • GOAL 11: REDUCED INEQUALITIES
  • GOAL 14: LIFE BELOW WATER

Each school had to prepare a presentation of the activities of a single day. Our students’ presentation of the 2nd day of activities is available in Google Slides:

After our return, the teachers that participated in the mobility presented the outcomes of the activities and details of our journey to other teachers from neighboring schools on Google Meet. The following poster (in Greek) was part of the promotion of the online presentation:

The graphic used is a variant of the “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” (Japanese: 神奈川沖浪裏 , Kanagawa-oki Nami Ura), a woodblock print by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai created in 1831. It is one of the most reproduced images in the history of art and it has influenced several notable artists. In this variant (which we found on T-shirts sold in Réunion) the volcano of Réunion island is shown in the background instead of Mount Fuji. A second variant is the one used in the Home Page of our web site: instead of Mount Fuji, Dirfys is shown. Dirfys is the biggest mountain in Evia and it is also known to some as Little Fuji (小さな 小富士)! : )
